WASHINGTON — The scientific program is now available for the 2024 Ocean Sciences Meeting, co-sponsored by the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO), and The Oceanography Society (TOS), in New Orleans, Louisiana 18 to 23 February 2024.

PRESS: REGISTER and BOOK HOTELS

Online access

Ocean Sciences Meeting 2024 is primarily an in-person event, with an online-only scientific session on Wednesday 21 February. Audio and slide presentations from In-person oral sessions will be recorded and made available to registered attendees after the close of the meeting.

Reporters may request expedited access to recordings of specific presentations. OSM24 Media Relations will live-stream all press events and take questions from remote reporters.

Programming

Browse the full scientific program and session formats from the meeting website. The biennial Ocean Sciences Meeting brings together about 5,000 scientists, students, policymakers and educators to discuss breaking research across the ocean sciences and critical issues affecting a sustainable future for our oceans.

Media registrants receive, at no charge, access to all scientific sessions and an on-site press room, along with press events. Some events and activities, including but not limited to invitation-only events and communications workshops, are not open to press registrants.

Tips on recommended sessions and a press event schedule will be posted to the Press Center in early February.

Press registration and hotel information

Reservations at conference hotels can be made during registration, or registered press attendees can log in to the booking page through 24 January. Press registrants should use the press registration portal to book housing. Booking housing through the general registration portal will conflict with your press registration. Browse conference hotels and rates.

Staff, freelance and student journalists are eligible to apply for complimentary press registration through the end of the conference. Press officers and institutional writers covering the meeting are also eligible. Additional information for press can be found in the conference Press Center. Learn about our eligibility requirements.

Media access to the meeting is issued at the discretion of the OSM24 Media Relations Office. All press registrants must provide credentials regardless of whether they have attended in the past. Please email us at [email protected] if you have a question about eligibility, what group you should register under, or other conference questions.

Health and safety

OSM strongly encourages all attendees to be up to date on all vaccinations. Documentation of COVID-19 vaccination is not required to attend the conference at this time, but OSM will reconsider implementing this requirement if conditions and guidance from health professionals change.

Masking guidelines will be assessed prior to the meeting dates. Masks will be available onsite for attendees upon request and those who wish to wear masks are encouraged to do so.
